10.7.2008 OG ALBUM RE-RELEASES ON DIGIPAK!

Metal Mind Productions will be re-releasing OG's Antti Filppu years a ka "Spirits And August Light/Steal The Light ep" and "Years In Waste" albums on August 25th.

Both albums will remastered and released on digipak format including bonus tracks, new liner notes by AF and extra photo footage.

6.7.2008 DARK RIVER FESTIVAL + FINNISH DATES ANNOUNCED / HAMBURG DATE ADDED TO TOUR!

OG will be breaking the summer vacation silence and appear at the mighty local and legendary DARK RIVER FESTIVAL on the 8th of August, be there & be sexual!

5.6.2008 FUCK THE B-ASSPLAYERS! - OG LOOKING FOR A NEW BASSIST AGAIN!

Shit happens again and we found ourselves again losing the bass player somewhere out in space. Eerik really surprised us all and decided to left the band this soon. No drama, no fights, no-thing, as we ain´t got a clue really whatta hell happened here!

So - all the decent basstard candidates feel free to contact us on this case (ogatherum@gmail.com)!

However, this won´t affect in any way to our autumn touring and all the booked gigs and the european tour will be made & played...

4.5.2008 MIXING MODE STARTED!

All the recordings of the new album are now done and the stuff are in the hands of Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio in Sweden at the moment as he "will tweak the living daylight of the stuff and come up with the most powerful sound ever to grace a metal band!"

The rough mix already sounded a classic, so we´ll be sure that we are delivering the goods here with this album!

As you´ve might noticed we have put our energy with this album to somewhere else than our beloved studio diary, haha! We´ll see if that blog story continues ever or not...


4.5. NEW BOOKING AGENCY & MANAGEMENT IN FINLAND - SECRET ENTERTAINMENT!

Secret Entertainment and OG have started a co-operation. From now on Toni Peltola / Secret Entertainment will handle our gig booking and management in Finland. Check out the contact information here. 15.4. OG SUPPORTING DARK TRANQUILLITY IN HELSINKI NEXT SUNDAY!

OG will be supporting our recent tour buddies Dark Tranquillity at the famous Tavastia Club in Helsinki next sunday, 20th of April! Be there and you might hear some flashes of the new material played there!

23.3. OG IN STUDIO RECORDING 4th ALBUM / STUDIO DIARY

Drum recordings of the 4th OG album have started at Sound Supreme Studios in Hämeenlinna, Finland with Janne Saksa. Next weekend we´ll change the location to our local SouthEastSounds studio to Karhula where we´ll be recording the rest of the stuff with Teemu Aalto. The mixing and mastering of the album will be happening in May at Örebro, Sweden in Unisound Studio by Dan Swanö.

18.3. EUROPEAN TOUR WITH NILE, GRAVE & BELPHEGOR!

Omnium Gatherum have been confirmed to take part to the last leg of the Ithyphallic Europe Tour in September / October 2008 with Nile, Grave & Belphegor. We´ll be doing the last leg of the tour and visit UK, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Norway & Denmark. Check out the confirmed dates here. We´ll be adding few shows more to the tour soon, so keep checking the live section...

We have also uploaded some live / on the road photo footage to our myspace site. ...And you can also finally read the last part of the UK-tour diary from our blog.

We´ve been doing a lot of pre-production for the coming 4th album during last few weeks, and the stuff is starting to kick some serious ass & ear! The actual album recording session will begin next sunday, at easter sunday, what could be more evil metal date to start the studio sessions! It seems that OG will be returning to more melodic approach on this album, back to the glory days, hehe. But no worries, the stuff will still be as heavy as a really heavy thing!

2.3.2008 OG ALBUM and MARKUS SUCCEEDS IN METAL FROM FINLAND AWARDS 2007!!

We´re glad to inform that OG succeeded to top 10 in two categories at Metal From Finland Awards 2007!!! "Stuck Here On Snakes Way" was #10 on top 10 best Finnish albums of 2007, on the same list with bands like HIM, Nightwish, Apocalyptica, Amorphis etc. Markus was also voted to position #9 on top 10 best Finnish guitarist of 2007. Thanks for voting us, WE SALUTE YOU!!!

In a nutshell, "Snakes Way" album have rocked us very nicely when checking happenings retrospectively;

OG visited official Finnish album chart at position 31., album got a huge pile of great reviews all around the world, we did tours abroad supporting Caliban and Dark Tranquillity, played german festival, did a headlining tour in UK and toured with Entombed in Finland and did loads of own gigs in Finland. So, it´s a good boogie going on here when it´s time to head to the studio to record the 4th effort!


15.2.2008 BACK IN FINLAND - THANKS UK & DT!

We´re successfully back in business in Finland from the British Fiction Tour from the UK. The tour was a blast and we´d like to thank our new pals from Dark Tranquillity, their crew, personnel at all venues and of course, the amazing audiences in UK. This tour was surely a really great ride and we enjoyed every minute of that! We´re quite sure that we´ll come back to UK this year. We´ll update the tour blog as soon as we can... :) ...and include some photo footage from the trip and gigs also. At this point you can enjoy the view from the backstage door of the London Barfly gig - a view to burning Camden during the OG and DT sets...

30.1.2008 UK TOUR INFO / OG IS THE MAIN SUPPORT ACT

Evile have cancelled "The Great British Fiction Tour" and this means that OG will be the main support act and are playing just before Dark Tranquillity - which means a little bit longer set list! Evile will be compensated with local opening acts. See ya in UK!!


28.01.2008 4th ALBUM NEWS

OG will begin to record the 4th magnum opus extravaganza in March and this time the album will be done in three different studios; recordings will be done at Sound Supreme Studios by Janne Saksa and at SouthEastSounds by Teemu Aalto and the mixing and mastering will be done at legendary Unisound Studio at Örebro, Sweden by Dan Swanö (Nightingale, ex-Edge Of Sanity, ex-Bloodbath etc.) who´ve produced the albums for Opeth, Katatonia and Dissection for example. So, we could say that we´re really enthusiastic about this, surprise!

First time the album composing process have been really easy task and this pure fresh spirit can really be heard from the songs. The next level have been entered, so beware folks - autumn 2008 will be time for THE OG INVASION!

Finnish Get In The Pit TV intervieved OG´s Aapo, Eerik & Markus. There is two separate interviews featured; basic interview you can find here, and the GITP tv´s new feature, that was just invented during OG interview - vitutuskorneri (artist pissed off-corner) featuring Eerik, who tells what Finnish band pisses him off and why, you can find this online here. These interviews will also be broadcasted on the Finnish television channel DIGGARI, date still unknown...

17.10.2007 PROCESSING THE NEW ALBUM!

We have also started to breed new OG material in the home studios and in the new rehearsal place and so far there´s about 5+ song skeletons ready and willing!. ...And yeah, of course it´s the best material we´ve ever...blaah blaah...That´s for sure! The fourth album is being planned to record at late spring ´08 or somewhere near there and it´ll be released via CANDLELIGHT RECORDS. More infos coming soon!


16.10.2007 EXIT JANNE - ENTER EERIK!

We´re sad to inform that our long-time bass player for 10 years Janne Markkanen has decided to step aside from OG crew due to his lack of time and motivation for this type of music. There´s none bad blood between us and of course we wish him best of luck for whatever he is doing from now on.

Good news are that we have new fresh motivated blood in the crew as EERIK PURDON is our new bassist from now on and he´ll be looking after to create some demonic bottom pulse and groove to our noise. Eerik have been our good friend for some time and he also helped us and played bass on OG´s Summer Blast Fest Spain / Portugal –tour in June 2007 when Janne was unavailable to do the shows and the dude really showed his infernal talents and OG attitude there! Eerik also plays in Crystal Blaze and he was acting session bassist in Amoral for their latest Finnish shows.

Janne's statement: "Thanks to everybody, OG-dudes, other bands and fans for great times during these years. I really felt that it was time for me to step aside, and let someone with more enthusiasm to take my place. Eerik is a real bad-ass player and great dude, so be prepared for some major ass-kicking OG material!"
