Nick Cordle joins Omnium Gatherum
Official debut show with a new lineup at Tuska festival on Friday
The world's best adult-oriented death metal band Omnium Gatherum will perform at Tuska in Helsinki on Friday, officially for the first time with their new line-up: Nick Cordle, who was already on the band's first successful North American headliner tour earlier this year, will take on the duties as Omnium Gatherum's second guitarist, alongside the OG band leader and guitarist Markus Vanhala.
"We are proud to announce that Nick Cordle will be joining the OG horde. After a banging North American tour with this guitar hero, he is most welcome to participate in our shenanigans across the world!"
Cordle, who is known not only as a guitarist but also as a distinguished songwriter in Arch Enemy, arrived to Finland earlier this week and is excited about the future with Omnium Gatherum.
"I could not be happier to be joining my long time friends in OG. We will shred Tuska in a few days and this is just the beginning", Cordle says.
Last year, Omnium Gatherum released their acclaimed new studio album Origin, which rose to the fifth place on Finland's official album charts. The band will be touring around Europe later this year with Fleshgod Apocalypse.

As you all know times and situations change in life all the time.
On the positive side of things - We're hard at work composing the new album stuff, and our bass player spot has finally been officially filled with our brother in arms - welcome MIKKO KIVISTÖ! This charismatic bass beast has already been playing gigs and conquered stages with us almost a year, and is previously known from the Finnish group Pain Confessor. As a human being and as a musician he fits absolutely very well to the Omnium Gatherum horde!
Here are Mikkos thoughts on the matter:
Im totally honored to be part of OG gang. Back in May 2019 I played my first gigs with the boys in Russia and it immediately felt I was in a right place with the right band. It felt like a dream come true! Last year was super, a lot of festivals and an European tour. It was easy to join the band with full of pure hearted guys I now can call my brothers and family. I will promise to continue to smash the bass at least as hard as all the previous guys did. Hopefully well together beat this COVID-19 soon and see you all again in festivals, tours and gigs. Thank you Omnium Gatherum for trusting my skills. See you all soon. Stay safe and let the metal flow!
On a bit more negative side of news - Our long time guitarist Joonas Koto decided to leave the group, already a while ago. There was no bad blood or fighting behind the decision, just a surprise and a shock. Joonas was just tired of active touring and travelling. We wish all the best for Joonas in his future endeavours!
Our brothers in metal, Jani Liimatainen and Nick Cordle have been helping us filling in as a 2nd guitar player on our gigs lately. Thanks dudes, and we salute your awesomeness!
At the moment we are operating officially as a 5-men unit, and composing the next album by storm and quarantine -
BUT, if you feel you (or someone you know) would have the guts, the balls, the bad jokes and the abilities for what it takes to be an Omnium Gatherum guitarist and part of the horde - feel free to contact the band and well see what future holds - Search is on!!

Because of the exceptional circumstances all around the world, cultural events of all shapes and sizes are prohibited. This insists on new aspects and innovations from everybody involved in the business.
So here we are!
Finnish melodic death metals heavy hitters Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum in co-operation with East Coast Events, AK Sound & Music Service, livevideo.fi and Framenoir arrange Live Stream -concert next weeks Friday 4/10/2020 19:00 (EEST).
Both of the bands play live, and the participating audience is able to comment and react to the performance live. Apparent agenda of this all is to offer an opportunity for the fans to spend the moment as intuitive and interactive as possible with their favourite bands.
Markus Vanhala comments on behalf of both camps:
If someone had asked me to do a live stream with ticket sales two weeks ago, my answer wouldve been hell no. But the world changes, apparently really fast when youre in quarantine. Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum double trouble North American tour went pretty bad with the cancellation and the country (=WORLD!) shutting down right after we arrived at the airport to New York City So this is what we can offer back for now, before this tour can be rescheduled sometime next year, hopefully. After staring two weeks to the wall inside four walls at home quarantine, I have discovered a hellish urge to go back on stage and play. Even if it would be an empty hall and pose for the camera eyes only, but to play with my booyas as live in concert as we can at the moment! With this stream production we try to help cultural field and concert promoting, our own crew, local entertainment companies and a bit also, our poor ourselves, as cancellation of the gigs and tours destroyed our income. Thanks for the huge support to our beloved fans!
Also, the companies operating in the event industry are in a tight spot right now, which is why the committed Kotka-Hamina -area companies are offering their expertise and equipment to provide an evening to remember fo the bands and their fans.

Tickets are on sale at the same site. the price for the Stream is 8,90.
Ticket will include live sets from both bands(recording of the show is also available 48h after live sets) and

Melodic death metal masters OMNIUM GATHERUM are not getting tired of spreading the burning cold around the globe. After touring Asia, Oceania, Malta and the Balearics the Finns are excited to announce another run of headliner shows for Europe. This time they will be joined by death doom metallers Hamferð, the Swedish In Mourning and Heidra from Denmark.

"It's time to hit the European roads again for spreading the Burning Cold Over Europe for another round. This time we're going also to some areas we haven't been playing that much lately, like some more Eastern European countries as also first time ever in Greece - which we're definitely looking forward! "Sometimes you can be extra proud of something you've achieved, and I could claim that The Burning Cold album has a sense of special chapter for me. I havent been this excited for a new album of mine for ages!
I've been extra busy with all the touring in the past year(s) and I truly dont know when and where I got these songs made. They somehow wrote themselves indeed. We got some really good kick-ass songs and fresh tunes made up and The Burning Cold has a really honest feeling in it. Fresh rebirth of Omnium Gatherum!
We are honored kick off this album cycle with a pre-release show for the new album at one of our favorite festivals in the field, SUMMER BREEZE. You can hear debut live shots of some of the new songs there, so be sure not to miss all this excitement, new glory and fresh mistakes!"

"There are two major lyrical concepts on the new album;
Firstly, it touches the great human tragedies and fortunes which are around us - Tragedies such as war and the engulfing darkness that follows, and Fortunes which are tangled in experiences we all share despite of the seemingly burning world.
Secondly, the lyrics speak loudly of the human emotional condition. How do we love? Why do we hate? Why some things are easier to leave behind than others. Why does death terrify us, and if it does why do people act like it does not exist?
This album is a pinnacle of all the hard work we as a group have done in OG for a long time. The music comes alive and reaches new perspectives. Still. This is truly melodic death metal. Sharpened polished, brutal."

Omnium Gatherum has just signed a deal with Century Media Records. After already having signed the band with their latest album Grey Heavens for North America, Century Media Records is now going global and will release the upcoming albums worldwide!

Last years have been really good for OG and joining CM tour de force is a natural next step on our path to limelight and glorification. Omnium Gatherum is happy to announce Tuomo Latvala joining the band as a full-time drummer after one year of solid prospect member service. Tuomo is a drumming instructor at his private drum school in Turku (Southwest Finland), and currently plays also in Torture Killer. He has previously played in such bands as Demigod and Hateform.
Omnium Gatherum collectively thanks and salutes JARMO PIKKA for 18 years of solid service and brotherhood - may the force be with you!

As many of you Omnium Gatherum fans an followers might have noticed, theres been another bold-headed rhythm machine hitting the drums already over one year. Our long-time drummer and brother-in-arms Jarmo Pikka stepped out for a daddy leave last year, and since then weve got the amazing Tuomo Latvala as a filling-in drummer. At some point it became clear that Jarmos holiday is stretching longer and longer, so it became evident for Tuomo to step in. And why the hell not - since the show #1 with the dude it was clear that the chemistry, the energy, the friendship and the brotherhood is there. So were proudnloud and pleased to welcome the man from south-west Finland to join us east coasters! Many good things will follow soon!

My first encounter with OG was around 2001 when they and one of my previous bands played at a same metal happening in my hometown Turku. I bought their demo CD and thought they played the crap out of the bands performing that night. We have bumped into each other every now and then, but it wasnt until 2010 when I had a chance to get to know Markus a bit more.
My band Hateform played in Kotka and we had an afterparty and slept over at Markus place. Its not a secret that Markus shared his bed with me that night and I told him not to hesitate to ask if hed ever need my services (as a drummer). After five years or so he still remembered my words and asked if I could fill in for Jarmo on their North American tour 2015. After that I was asked to do a few more tours, festival dates and one-off shows before I was faced with a question of joining the band as a fulltime member. Apparently you can find yourself in a situation like this by spending a night together with Mr.Vanhala.
Jarmo being known as an extremely solid drummer and a longtime member of the band I feel honored to have a chance to continue where he left off. After doing a one years worth of shows it already feels like a second home with the guys and Im proud to say that Im a part of Omnium Gatherum now. Im excited in starting to work on a new album and playing for old and new fans around the world. Cheers and see you on tour!

It's a 10-date co-headline tour Omnium Gatherum with Draconian, and support coming from Year Of The Goat and Oceanwake, so it's gonna be Finnish / Swedish death match with this band line-up!
" We cannot wait to hit the road again with a turbo loaded set list including stuff from the new upcoming "Grey Heavens" album! Even though it's only about 2 months that we played the last show of our 150 -date "Beyond the World" tour that took us around the planet and from coast to coast. Co-headlining in Europe with Draconian sounds like a lot of fun and finally we get to play also a longer set in mainland Europe, which is cool for both the fans and the band!
